James Cameron, a Real Life Avatar battle, and the Sequel…..
In the 15 years since he wrote the script for “Avatar,” his epic tale of greed versus nature, director Jim Cameron has become an avid environmentalist. But he said that until his trip to the Brazilian Amazon last month, his advocacy was mostly limited to the environmentally responsible way he tried to live his life. “Avatar” has changed all that: Mr. Cameron is now on a crusade to emotionalize environmental issues and raise awareness of an “Avatar” battle taking place right now on earth, along the Amazon River in Brazil.
Mr. Cameron is taking decisive action, to raise awareness of looming environmental destruction with the building of the world’s 3rd largest dam -- endangering indigenous groups around the world — a cause that is fueling his inner rage and inspiring his work on an “Avatar” sequel.
